YEGO Zone-A Women to Start Saving and Lending Co-operative

Jan2019-ZoneALeadershipTeam

Athanasie Gatera and the women from Zone A are enjoying eating maize flowers together. Sharing maize is culturally significant. It symbolizes a united people meeting together to share experiences and celebrate life.

Update:

Athanasie gathered the women from Zone A together on January 24, 2019. The group shared maize along with their stories, worries and joys. They offered each other encouragement, comfort and prayers.

Together, the women envision a better future. To that end, Zone A has set up a committee to co-ordinate a saving and lending co-operative. Watch for more details as this unfolds.

Background:

All the women and youth who have attended a past healing retreat are divided into 6 groups. Each group is led by a member of the core team and represents a geographical area. This enables those living close to each other to meet regularly for effective follow-up. Athanasie co-ordinates Zone A.
